Key Responsibilities:

Clinical:

  • To provide critical care management of patients according to established standards of best practice.
  • To provide a safe critical care management.
  • Comply with the established King’s College Hospital-Dubai practices.
  • Comply with the requirements of the regulatory UAE medical health authorities with respect to all professional practices.
  • To advice and perform the necessary procedures together with obtaining approval from the relevant healthcare insurance company prior to performing such procedures.
  • Accurately document all relevant patient information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with King’s College Hospital-Dubai health record keeping policy.
  • Communicate medical information to patients and the patient’s families.
  • Liaise with other medical and surgical specialities and professional support services for additional input as required.
  • Accept appropriate referrals from other speciality Medical Centers.
  • Work effectively and efficiently within the team structure of the King’s College Hospital-Dubai treatment centre by maintaining a good working relationship with other members of staff, promoting collaboration and adopting a team-based approach to patient care.
  • Implement, support and follow all clinic initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Practice only within the privileges granted by King’s College Hospital-Dubai and UAE medical health authorities.
  • Take part in the medical cover on call rota as required.

Clinical Governance & Personal Development

  • Attend all relevant clinical meetings unless on approved leave.
  • Participate fully in all aspects of clinical governance making a significant contribution to clinical audit and risk management activities.
  • Take an active role in identifying and reporting clinical risk.
  • Contribute to standard setting within the organisation.
  • Commit to continual personal development (CPD) and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice is followed.
  • Maintain own CPD through attendance at any courses and/or study days necessary to ensure that professional development requirements are met. Attend training and events organised by the hospital/clinic or other agencies, where appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • MBBS or MD
  • CCT or completion of a recognised specialist training programme desired or Masters Degree in Critical Care.
  • Evidence of specialist training programme in critical care medicine, DHA license for critical care or at least eligible.
  • Resuscitation as per the specialty
  • Has worked in hospital or similar setting for at least 3 years
  • Essentially having organ tranplanst patient management
