Role Overview:
We are seeking a General Surgery Specialist to join our dynamic team. You will provide expert surgical care, manage complex cases across the surgical continuum (pre-operative, operative & post-operative), and contribute to the hospital’s mission of delivering outstanding outcomes and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, plan and perform a wide range of general surgery procedures, including elective and emergency cases.
- Manage pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative execution and post-operative care, monitoring patient recovery and intervening when required.
- Collaborate with anaesthesiologists, nursing, allied health, and care teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality surgical care.
- Apply evidence-based surgical techniques, embrace innovations (e.g., minimally-invasive / laparoscopic procedures), and uphold best practices.
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation in line with DOH/DHA and M42 standards; maintain compliance with hospital protocols and accreditation requirements.
- Mentor junior surgeons or senior residents, participate in departmental education, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialist certification in General Surgery.
- Masters/Certificate of Completion of specialty training recognized by DOH or as defined by DOH PQR.
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-specialisation experience in general surgery; experience in a hospital setting preferred.
