Job Description

Responsibilities

•    Examining patients and ordering diagnostic tests.
•    Analyzing patient symptoms and test results and making a diagnosis.
•    Prescribing treatments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with other doctors to treat or manage side effects.
•    Using various methods of treatment, such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transplants, radiation therapy, and surgery.
•    Leading a treatment team of other physicians and healthcare workers.
•    Counseling patients and family members and promoting the well-being of patients and their long-term survival.
•    Maintaining patient records.
•    Conducting clinical, transitional, and science-based research in order to remain up to date and to find new ways to treat cancer and blood disorders that possibly lead to a cure.
 

Qualifications

•    Post Graduate of approved Medical School with a valid license to practice Pediatric Oncology.
•    Certification by the American Board of Pediatric Oncology or equivalent U.K. certification Member of the Royal College of Physicians (PAEDS).
•    At least 3 years as a full-time Pediatric Oncologist, after residency training.
•    Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
•    Current licensure in country of origin and with DOH /DHA / MOH license to practice in UAE.
•    Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
•    Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
