Job Purpose:
Capable of working within a broad range of duties, covering preparing BOQ, Sub Con & client Invoices for Civil & MEP works, taking site measurements for completed works and evaluating change orders.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor the site ‘permit-to-work’ systems to ensure compliance with Project HSE Plan and standards.
2. Conduct daily & weekly safety toolbox talks.
3. Conduct weekly safety walk through to assess implementation of safety plan.
4. Marking of hazardous construction material & making sure their storage as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
5. Preparing Hob Hazard Analysis & communicating it to related site team members.
6. Making sure that all vehicles & equipment have required fitness certificate from concerned Authority.
7. Making sure that vehicle & equipment driver/operator has related license or permit or required training to operate it.
8. Perform periodic safety audit to evaluate compliance with HSE Plan.
9. Perform data analysis to know safety trends & to make strategies to avoid any incident.
10. Investigate / record near miss, incidents & accidents. Provide support and expertise to local safety teams in incident investigation and reporting.
11. Ensure regular inspections of all areas of construction projects to identify HSE issues.
12. Identify opportunities for continuous safety improvement within the Safety Department.
13. Experience in leading and carrying out Safety Risk Assessments and Safety Risk Management Programs.
14. Provide health and safety leadership and direction to Division, Department and Project Manager.
15. To recommend & implement control measures and advice on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees.
16. Ensure that project personnel are adequately trained in emergency response plan procedures.
17. Participate and assist the supervisors, foreman and safety advisors in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary.
18. Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
19. Ensure safety boards with postings including but not limited to: Health and safety policy, inspection and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained and current.
20. Monitor the site ‘permit-to-work’ systems to ensure compliance with Project HSE Plan and standards.
21. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety engineer role, especially within healthcare or hospital environments.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
Language:
Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.
