The Specialist in ENT (Otolaryngology) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered ENT services within both physical and digital care settings under the supervision of the Consultant ENT. The role focuses on assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions through in-person and virtual consultations, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based healthcare delivery. The ENT Specialist contributes to clinical quality, patient safety, and professional development while supporting the delivery of integrated ENT services at Bupa CareConnect.

Assessment and Diagnosis

  • Conduct comprehensive ENT assessments through physical and virtual consultation settings
  • Review medical history, symptoms, investigations, imaging, and examination findings
  • Utilize digital tools and telemedicine platforms effectively for remote ENT evaluations
  • Recommend and coordinate appropriate diagnostic investigations and specialist referrals when required
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR system

Management and Treatment Planning

  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines
  • Prescribe medications and recommend non-pharmacological interventions as appropriate
  • Provide structured follow-up care and monitor patient treatment adherence
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the Consultant ENT or multidisciplinary teams when required

Clinical Quality and Safe Practice

  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements and patient safety standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system for all patient interactions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and departmental meetings
  • Report and manage clinical incidents and adverse events in a timely and appropriate manner

Collaboration and Care Coordination

  • Collaborate with healthcare teams across physical and digital ENT services
  • Coordinate referrals, investigations, and continuity of care for patients
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and case reviews
  • Support smooth patient transitions between virtual and physical care settings

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

  • Provide empathetic, patient-centered ENT care with clarity and professionalism
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive ENT care
  • Address patient concerns promptly, with compassion and clear communication
  • Support service excellence initiatives and respond to patient feedback for continuous improvement

Professional Development and Compliance

  • Participate actively in CME activities and professional development programs
  • Stay updated on ENT clinical guidelines, telemedicine practice standards, and advancements
  • Maintain active SCFHS registration and comply with licensing and credentialing requirements

Skills

  • Strong ENT diagnostic skills and familiarity with otolaryngology examination and assessment tools
  • Proficiency in telehealth technologies and digital health consultation platforms
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation
  • Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills in ENT disease management
