Job Purpose:
Responsible for organization and supervision of Staff working under the assigned Unit, including radiographers, nurses, receptionists, transcriptionists, porters & cleaners. Fulfills Job of Radiology technician as per work needs and as per applicable competencies.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Ensures that the technical staff under his/ her supervision practice at all times proper imaging techniques that are compatible with standards of practice and they provide excellent customer service, attending to patients in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
- Organizes work schedules and assigns duties to ensure smooth patient flow and achieve performance goals.
- Oversees staff during imaging procedures, evaluates the accuracy and quality of images, and provides technical assistance.
- Acts as a mentor to staff under his/ her supervision, offering guidance and support for their professional development.
- Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure compliance with international and local regulatory requirements.
- Collects and analyzes staff utilization data to ensure fair distribution of work.
- Conducts daily environmental inspections to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the unit.
- Spends good deal of time during the day around patients and staff work areas to make sure that all patients are served in a timely manner and no patient is left unattended.
- Reviews staff and patient satisfaction data, collaborating with the department chairperson to implement improvements.
- Performs General Radiographer duties as per work needs.
- Assists the Chairperson of Radiology with staff performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Responsible for replenishing the supplies and consumables of the department and makes sure that requests are placed to supply chain in a timely manner so that no stock reached zero.
- Maintains knowledge of sterile techniques, aseptic procedures, and nursing practices relevant to radiology.
- Reports defects in radiology equipment to the Chairperson of Radiology and biomedical engineers, ensuring follow-up on repairs.
- Responsible for full orientation of new staff. Ensures new comers are aware of Unit/Departmental policies, procedures and are shadowed by him/her at least one week after joining and before being allowed to work independently.
- Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures if applicable.
- Performs Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Able to clearly communicate with patients and their families, physicians and non-medical staff.
Experience
Must be in continuous good radiological practice and should hold at least 10 post-diploma experience. Such candidate must also show evidence of a previous experience of at least 3 years duration
Education
Must hold an appropriate radiographic/technological diplomas / Bachelor degree
Language
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable
Licenses / Certifications
License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA),
