Radiation Therapist

Job Description

1.Performs simulation during radiotherapy which is the initial step in developing an effective treatment plan

takes place on the CT simulator. Positions patients on Imaging machines and performs marking as applicable.

2. Makes molds (if needed) and masks.

3. keeps track of supply of molding material and masks, requests and maintains supply of molding material.

4. Assists during administration of radiotherapy sessions, and ensures proper positioning of patients on the

machines.

5. Irradiates blood products.

6. Coordinates communication with biomedical engineers in case of machine malfunctions and monitors the

progress of repairs, replacement part requests, and related issues. Also follows up on maintenance activities

for radiotherapy equipment, both by biomedical engineering and manufacturing companies.

7. Available if called outside regular duty hours, to irradiate urgent oncologic cases, and to irradiate blood

products for urgent cases.

8. Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job.
