Job Summary:
The Product Specialist is responsible for promoting and driving the sales of assigned products by engaging with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key stakeholders. This role involves developing a deep understanding of the product, conducting market analysis, educating customers, and ensuring sales targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development:
– Promote and sell assigned products to healthcare professionals (HCPs), including doctors, pharmacists, and key decision-makers.
– Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively communicating the product’s benefits and features.
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers to enhance product visibility and sales performance.
– Conduct regular visits to assigned territories, ensuring optimal coverage of HCPs and key accounts.
2. Product Knowledge & Training:
– Stay updated on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
– Provide product training and educational support to HCPs, sales teams, and distribution partners.
– Address customer inquiries and concerns with in-depth product knowledge.
3. Market Analysis & Strategy:
– Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
– Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies that enhance market penetration.
– Provide feedback to the management team regarding customer preferences, competitor positioning, and potential growth areas.
4. Promotional Activities & Events:
– Participate in medical conferences, product launches, and promotional events.
– Organize and conduct educational workshops, CME sessions, and scientific meetings for HCPs.
– Coordinate with marketing teams to execute product campaigns and promotional activities.
5. Compliance & Reporting:
– Ensure all activities comply with company policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards.
– Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales performance, and market insights.
– Submit regular reports on sales progress, territory coverage, and customer feedback.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related field.
– 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or a similar role (preferred).
– Prior experience in the healthcare industry with exposure to product promotion.
Skills & Competencies:
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Excellent presentation and negotiation abilities.
– Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic sales approaches.
– Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
– Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Work Conditions:
– Field-based role requiring frequent visits to healthcare institutions and customers.
– May require occasional travel for conferences and training sessions.
