Role Description The Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for dispensing medications accurately and counseling customers on proper use and potential side effects. This role includes reviewing prescriptions for safety and legality, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and ensuring correct storage and handling of pharmaceuticals. The Pharmacist supports daily operations by processing sales, managing insurance-related documentation where applicable, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy. The role also involves providing exceptional customer service, answering health-related inquiries within scope of practice, and collaborating with colleagues to uphold Zikry Pharmacies’ quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Professional pharmacy expertise: ability to interpret prescriptions, dispense medications safely, provide patient counseling, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and pharmacy standards.
- Clinical and product knowledge: strong understanding of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage forms, and a broad range of medicinal and non-medicinal products commonly available in community pharmacies.
- Customer service and communication: excellent interpersonal skills, clear and empathetic communication with diverse customers, and the ability to explain medical information in accessible language.
- Operational and organizational skills: accuracy in documentation, attention to detail, inventory management, cash handling, and effective time management in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology and systems: comfort using pharmacy management systems, point-of-sale tools, and basic computer applications to process prescriptions and maintain records.
- Education and licensing: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, with valid Egyptian pharmacist license; internship or prior experience in community pharmacy is an advantage.
- Professional attributes: commitment to ethical practice, reliability in shift work, willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures, and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Language skills: proficiency in Arabic; ability to communicate in English is an added benefit.
