Role Description

The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and accurate dispensing of medications to patients and clinical areas, in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. This full-time, on-site role in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, involves reviewing and validating prescriptions, checking for drug interactions and allergies, and counseling patients on proper medication use and potential side effects. The Pharmacist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacotherapy and support patient care plans. Daily tasks include maintaining and monitoring medication inventory, overseeing storage conditions, preparing and compounding medications when required, and contributing to infection control and safety initiatives. The role also supports continuous quality improvement, documentation, and participation in educational activities and training within the hospital.

Qualifications

  • Professional pharmacy qualifications, such as a Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution, and eligibility for licensure as a Pharmacist in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug interactions, with the ability to review and interpret prescriptions and treatment plans safely and accurately.
  • Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings, preferably in surgical, cosmetic, or acute care environments, including medication dispensing, compounding, and inventory management.
  • Strong patient counseling and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance on medication use, adherence, and side effects to a diverse patient population.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, maintain accurate records, follow protocols, and contribute to quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, electronic health records, and standard office software; familiarity with UAE and international regulatory and accreditation standards is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail, ethical conduct, reliability, and commitment to continuous professional development; fluency in English is required, and Arabic language skills are an asset.
