Patient Affairs Lead

Job Description

Job Objective Play a crucial role in building and maintaining positive relationships between GEPD and patients and patient groups, ensuring patient-centricity mindset internally and externally ,collaboration with cross-functional teams to bridge patient-centered initiatives with medical and scientific strategy by supporting patient access, education, engagement programs, and ensuring accurate medical communication aligned with clinical evidence, regulatory standards, and organizational objectives.

Key responsibility

  • Patient Advocacy:
    • Build and maintain relationships with patient advocacy groups and key opinion leaders to ensure a strong patient voice in decision-making processes via engaging with these groups to understand patient needs, gather feedback, and collaborate on initiatives that improve patient outcomes and access to treatments.
    • Represent the company at patient advocacy events, conferences, and industry forums to engage with patients and gain insights into their needs and concerns.
  • Patient Support Programs
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify barriers to patient access and develop mitigation strategies & ensure integration of patient-centric initiatives into overall business strategies.
    • Develop and implement patient support programs to enhance the overall patient experience, including access programs, education initiatives, and adherence support.
    • Monitor and evaluate patient program outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Medical Affairs and RWE Support
    • Scientific & Clinical Support
      • Support national medical education activities, including CME programs and scientific meetings.
    • Evidence Generation & Data Insights
      • Support real-world evidence initiatives and investigator-initiated studies.
      • Collect and analyze patient and clinical insights to support medical strategy.
      • Contribute to publication planning and scientific communication activities.
    • Stakeholder Engagement
      • Build and maintain professional relationships with top healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders that are involved in top local and international patient’s and scientific organizations .
      • Support advisory boards, scientific discussions, and medical training sessions when needed
  • Collaborations and partnerships
    • Establish partnerships with other pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and Gov healthcare organizations.
    • Actively engage in industry events, conferences, and forums to connect with key players, share insights, and stay informed about the latest developments.
    • Actively engage and collaborate with local and international patient groups as WFH, IPOPI etc
  • Communication
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies targeting patients,
    • Create educational materials, including brochures, websites, and other resources to support patient understanding of products and therapeutic interventions
  • Internal Advocacy
    • Advocate patient perspectives within the company, influencing decision-making processes and ensuring that patient needs are considered in product development, marketing and other business activities.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
    • Stay current with industry regulations and guidelines related to patient interactions and communication.
    • Ensure all patient-focused initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements and ethical standards
  • Data Analysis
    • Utilize patient data and feedback to assess the effectiveness of patient programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Ethical and Social Responsibility
    • Plays a role in promoting the company’s commitment to ethical business practices, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability and communicating these values for building trust with stakeholders.
  • Advocacy for Industry Issues
    • Participate in industry associations and advocacy groups to represent the pharmaceutical sector. This involvement allows them to collaborate on common issues, share best practices, and collectively address challenges faced by the industry
    • Engage with government officials, lawmakers, and regulatory agencies to advocate for policies that align with the company’s interests
  • Community Engagement
    • Supporting community health initiatives, participating in national projects and ensuring that the company’s activities align with the needs and values of the communities where it operates.

Academic Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical science or medicine.

Professional Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a patient / medical affairs or related role within the pharmaceutical industry for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Preferable experience in rare disease / Hematology therapeutic area
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to patient interactions.

  • Excellent Microsoft computing skills

    • Medical Terminology & Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare documentation and, billing, and, health insurance policies.
    • Customer Service: At least 3-5 year of experience in a direct patient-facing or customer-centric role.
    • Conflict Resolution: Experience handling complaints and navigating complex,, sensitive, patient-related issues , key policy makers , and key medical experts
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of patient rights, confidentiality, and privacy regulations , patient support programs execution and regulations

Languages

  • Excellent English and Arabic both spoken and written
