Nutritionist (Part time)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nutritional Assessment & Planning: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop personalized nutrition plans tailored to the needs of individuals with eating disorders.
  • Collaboration with Mental Health Professionals: Work closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists to provide integrated care and contribute to the overall treatment plan.
  • Patient Counseling & Support: Offer ongoing education, counseling, and support to patients and their families, helping them understand the role of nutrition in recovery and relapse prevention.
  • Monitoring & Adjustments: Regularly monitor patients’ progress, make adjustments to meal plans, and provide guidance to ensure nutritional stability throughout the recovery process.
  • Patient Education: Develop and deliver educational resources and workshops on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and the psychological aspects of eating disorders.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of patient progress, assessments, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and confidentiality standards.
  • Team Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, challenges, and adapt treatment approaches as needed.

Qualifications:

  • DHA License as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RD or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working with patients suffering from eating disorders.
  • Proven experience collaborating with psychologists or mental health professionals in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of the psychological aspects of eating disorders and how they impact nutritional behavior.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practice.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices in the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating behaviors.
