Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate nuclear imaging devices (Positron Emission Tomography – PET).
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to approved medical procedures.
• Monitor patients during examinations and report any medical issues.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
• Analyze the quality of captured images and verify their accuracy to provide a clear diagnosis.
• Document all procedures and examinations in medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians and medical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Calculate, measure, prepare, and record radiopharmaceuticals using computerized systems, following the physician’s and nuclear medicine consultant’s prescriptions.
• Maintain and calibrate radioisotopes and hot lab equipment.
• Safely dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine, Radiologic Imaging, or a related field.
• Certified professional qualification in Nuclear Medicine (such as an accredited health authority certification).
• Practical experience in operating nuclear imaging devices (Positron Emission Tomography – PET) (preferably at least [2] years of experience).
• Strong knowledge of radiation protection principles and medical procedures.
• Excellent technical and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
