Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital is seeking a dedicated and competent General Practitioner – Emergency to join its Emergency Department. The role involves providing high‑quality, timely medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring patient safety, continuity of care, and adherence to hospital clinical standards.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute and urgent medical conditions.
- Perform initial stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency interventions as required.
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic investigations, including laboratory tests and imaging.
- Manage minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and basic life support measures.
- Identify cases requiring escalation or referral and coordinate timely consultation with specialists.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
- Participate in on‑call and shift schedules as per departmental requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Minimum 2-3 years of post‑internship clinical experience, preferably with exposure to emergency or acute care settings.
- Current certification in BLS (ACLS preferred).
- Strong clinical judgment, decision‑making skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
