Job Description:

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
  • Perform different types of dental radiographs including intra-oral, extra-oral and CBCT X-Rays
  • Recording the patient’s medical history
  • Triaging the dental patients including blood pressure and pulse
  • Preparing dental instruments for sterilization
  • Implement environmental surfaces infection control measures as per policies in force
  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
  • providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures based on the dentist instructions
  • Taking impressions and optical impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
  • Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
  • Communicating with patients and dental coordinators (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)
  • Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery
  • Escorting the patient from and to the waiting area, to the cashier office after treatment
  • Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies
  • Maintain an updated SCHS license, BLS and other required licenses as per local regulation in force
  • Implement dental department policies and procedures
  • Submit replenishment requests to the dental coordinator
  • Maintain the dental clinic inventory of materials, disposables and equipment; and ensure reporting any issues or discrepancies through the assigned channels
  • Monitor and report expired dental materials
  • Maintain an up to date dental laboratory cases records and update the dentist on the same
  • Maintain patients’ confidentiality.

Education:

  • Medical Nursing or Dental Assistant or dentist .
  • Experience Fields: Dental Assisting.
