Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH), part of M42’s integrated healthcare network, is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anesthesiologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive anesthesia services across a wide range of surgical specialties, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, perioperative care, pain management, and clinical excellence. The Consultant will work collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes while contributing to education, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert anesthesia care for elective, emergency, and day-case surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic assessments and formulate individualized anesthesia plans.
- Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care in accordance with international best practices.
- Manage patients throughout the perioperative period, ensuring safe induction, maintenance, and recovery from anesthesia.
- Deliver acute and chronic pain management services, including regional anesthesia techniques where appropriate.
- Participate in the management of critically ill patients and provide airway management expertise when required.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including resuscitation and trauma cases.
- Ensure comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Practice within the scope of granted clinical privileges and maintain the highest standards of professional conduct.
Qualifications
- MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification.
- Completion of a recognized specialty training program in Anesthesiology.
- Consultant qualification recognized by the UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), such as:
- American Board Certification
- Canadian Fellowship (FRCPC)
- CCT/CCST or equivalent recognized qualification
- Minimum 3 years of post-certification experience as a Consultant Anesthesiologist.
- Valid DOH License as Consultant Anesthesiologist or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong clinical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
