Job purpose:

Develop and maintain business relationships with customers, and prospects to ensure retention of accounts and grow business to meet predefined targets. Identify and maximize new direct business sales opportunities and ensure future sales opportunities and growth while working in close collaboration with key internal GIG teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initial qualification and assessment of New Business opportunities, ensuring strategic alignment with target segments and profitability objectives before underwriting engagement.
  • Drive end-to-end business acquisition and renewal management, ensuring seamless coordination across underwriting, operations, compliance, and digital teams.
  • Oversee onboarding of New Business and Renewals, ensuring smooth transition from quote to policy issuance while maintaining client experience excellence.
  • Ensure all placements adhere to regulatory requirements and internal risk governance frameworks, protecting the organization from compliance and reputational exposure.
  • Collaborate closely with Underwriting to present comprehensive risk submissions, including competitor intelligence, market positioning, pricing benchmarks, and relevant commercial insights to strengthen negotiation outcomes.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for broker and key client issues
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance intermediaries.
  • Monitor portfolio performance (retention ratios, rate movements, loss ratios, growth targets) and implement corrective commercial strategies where required.
  • Identify new growth opportunities within existing broker relationships and expand market share within assigned accounts.

Essential Requirement:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ sales experience within the UAE insurance industry is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medical and Employee Benefits (EB) products.
  • Strong understanding of competitor offerings, market positioning, and pricing strategies.
  • Working knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment processes, authority limits, and related protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
