Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensures the proper working condition of all biomedical equipment and promptly reports any emergency issues to Biomedical Engineers or Biomedical Engineering Manager / Director
  • Demonstrates medical equipment to specialized staff to ensure correct operation and usage, minimizing risks to patients and users
  • Repairs, installs, calibrates, and inspects medical equipment and instrumentation, including life support equipment, and confirms task completion through signed reports.
  • Responds to medical equipment service requests, including telephone calls and correspondence, and prioritizes emergencies
  • Works independently or collaboratively with the Biomedical Engineers to minimize medical equipment downtime and performs the following activities:

– Executes necessary permanent or temporary remedies for equipment issues.

– Completes the “Action Taken” field in the Medical Equipment Service Call Program.

– Reports progress and issues to the Biomedical Engineers or Biomedical EngineerinG Manager/Director for accurate response and additional information.

– Suggests or recommends spare parts replacement, further equipment investigation, calibration, lubrication,and troubleshooting as needed.

– Coordinates with the Biomedical Coordinator to expedite ordered materials, equipment, and spare parts.

  • Attends service and maintenance visits with medical equipment contractors (external service providers) during inspections as required
  • Organizes and updates files, product catalogues, equipment documentation, and records in the Biomedical Department/workshop or medical equipment utility rooms.

Job Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in biomedical equipment maintenance,troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or a related field
  • Language: Excellent command of oral and written English and prefer Arabic.
  • Licenses / Certifications: A valid license to practice issued by the relevant regulatory authority if applicable.
