King’s College Hospital London Dubai is seeking a skilled and proactive Biomedical Engineer to support the safe, effective, and efficient operation of medical equipment and healthcare technology across our facilities.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, maintenance, and performance of a wide range of medical devices and systems, supporting the delivery of world-class patient care.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct equipment inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning of newly acquired medical devices.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and equipment inventories using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Coordinate with clinical departments, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely resolution of equipment-related issues.
- Support medical equipment procurement by participating in technical evaluations, specifications development, and equipment selection.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, hospital policies, accreditation standards, and medical device safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and user training to clinical and operational staff on the safe use of medical equipment.
- Investigate equipment failures, incidents, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Monitor equipment performance and contribute to asset management, replacement planning, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety programs.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in biomedical engineering within a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of medical equipment, including critical care, operating theatre, imaging, laboratory, and patient monitoring devices.
- Familiarity with healthcare accreditation standards, medical device regulations, and maintenance best practices.
- Experience with CMMS and hospital information systems is preferred
