The B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing program at AIIMS Bhopal is a four-year professional undergraduate degree designed to prepare competent, evidence-based nursing professionals. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with extensive clinical training across major specialties, including Medical-Surgical Nursing, Critical Care, Emergency Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Community Health Nursing, and Operation Theatre. Work & Experience
Completed a six-month compulsory clinical internship at AIIMS Bhopal, a premier tertiary care teaching hospital, gaining hands-on experience in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. The internship involved rotational postings across major clinical specialties, enabling the application of evidence-based nursing knowledge in diverse healthcare settings. AIIMS B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing includes this integrated internship as part of the curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Provided comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and documentation. Assisted in medical, surgical, emergency, ICU, pediatric, obstetric & gynecological, psychiatric, community health, and operation theatre settings. Performed nursing procedures such as IV cannulation assistance, wound dressing, catheter care, oxygen therapy, nebulization, and specimen collection. Monitored vital signs, blood glucose levels, ECG recordings, and patient responses to treatment. Maintained infection prevention and control practices, ensuring patient safety and quality care. Assisted in pre-operative and post-operative patient care and collaborated with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Educated patients and caregivers on disease management, medication adherence, and health promotion. Developed clinical decision-making, communication, leadership, and time-management skills while providing compassionate, evidence-based nursing care.
