Rotated through key laboratory sections including Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Urinalysis and Parasitology, Histology, and Immunology/Serology. Gained hands-on experience operating modern automated analyzers and laboratory information systems (LIS), while adhering to strict protocols on quality control, biosafety, and patient confidentiality. Collaborated with licensed Medical Technologists in performing diagnostic tests essential for patient care, and developed strong competencies in laboratory workflow, specimen handling, and result validation.
Participated in an international internship exchange program focused on comparative laboratory practices and global healthcare standards. Gained exposure to Thailand's hospital laboratory systems, including automated and manual diagnostic procedures in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology. Observed and assisted in laboratory workflows, learned about regional disease profiles, and adapted to diverse clinical protocols. The program emphasized cultural competence, international collaboration, and enhanced professional development in a cross-border healthcare setting.
Completed a 6-month clinical internship at the University of Baguio’s in-house medical laboratory, focusing on the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world diagnostic procedures. Rotated through various laboratory departments including Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Immunology/Serology, Histology and Urinalysis/Parasitology. Acquired practical experience in both manual and semi-automated testing, quality control, and laboratory information systems. Developed strong competencies in specimen handling, laboratory safety, and analytical accuracy while working under the supervision of licensed Medical Technologists and faculty supervisors.
Worked as a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist, performing a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests in departments including Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, and Blood Banking. Operated fully automated analyzers and ensured accurate and timely processing of patient specimens.
