Quality Manager • Develop and Implement Policies and Procedures governing the technical services within the department. • Supervised that all tests are enrolled in an external quality assurance scheme. • Highlight the need for new or updated departmental procedures. • Integrates instrument data, quality control & tested principles for accurate result reporting. • Addresses equipment/instrument malfunction according to established preventive maintenance programs • Ensures arrangements for the safe collection and disposal of used, expired, and unwanted products. • Responsible for ensuring daily stocks are checked and completed, orders and inventories of reagents and other consumables are available and continuously supplied. • Prioritize the workload ensuring inpatient and outpatient diagnostics are provided to agreed standards. • Monitors that outsourced specimens are properly sent and collected according to standard procedures and that results are released in a timely manner. • Ensures that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly. • To set up equipment, instruments, and apparatus required for specific laboratory tests. • Implements safety policies, and universal precautions and uses personal protective equipment for performing tasks per safety and infection control policies. • Liaise regularly with suppliers and their representatives to ensure appropriate products and quantities, terms, and prices are maintained. Medical Laboratory Technician • Performs Chemical, Hematologic, Serologic, and Microscopic analyses of blood and all biological fluids. • Performs pre-analytical duties such as phlebotomy, matching computer orders and requests with specimen labeling, sorting specimens, and logging requests. • Maintains quality assurance plan by running controls, standards, and calibrations to ensure correct accurate, and valid patient results. • Participate in proficiency testing of unknowns: internal and external quality assurance scheme. • Prepares samples and reagents for testing according to laboratory policies. • Accurately read, interpret report, and record results of all laboratory tests performed according to the laboratory policies. • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and quality control for all reagents. • Keep accurate records of quality control, maintenance, and workload data according to JCI standards. • Refer problems and unusual results to the clinician and document all corrective action procedures undertaken in the Laboratory. • Perform clerical and support services as needed, such as answering the telephone, reporting panic values to the clinician, disposing of contaminated specimens, control of inventory, maintaining cleanliness in the workplace • Ensures that equipment is properly maintained and cleaned, and chemicals and other materials are appropriately stored. • Prepares to outsource specimen to be sent to reference laboratory. • Monitor stock and order reagents and laboratory consumables.
