Supervise daily processing of all clinical and environmental surveillance samples received in the Microbiology laboratory, including preparation of culture media and reagents. • Perform daily and weekly internal quality control checks and equipment calibration; maintain QC and calibration records to ensure compliance with NABL accreditation standards. • Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); carry out troubleshooting of non-analytical laboratory equipment. • Maintain, verify and periodically audit records and documentation required for laboratory accreditation (daily, weekly and monthly). • Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to access and enter patient data, examination results and specimen tracking information. • Conduct bacteriology (culture, identification, antibiotic sensitivity), serology (HIV, HBsAg, HCV, Dengue, Widal, Leptospirosis, VDRL/RPR, CRP, RA, ASO), mycology and parasitology testing. • Perform molecular diagnostics using RT-PCR and GeneXpert for Tuberculosis, HIV and COVID-19, including CD4/CD8 counts. • During the COVID-19 pandemic, handled specimen collection, sample processing and reporting (RT-PCR & GeneXpert), and supported ICU/ward data work. • Perform phlebotomy and ensure adherence to biomedical waste management and biosafety protocols.
