Job Description

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat illnesses, injuries, and developmental issues in infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies tailored to each child’s medical condition and age.
  • Conduct routine physical exams, including growth and developmental assessments.
  • Administer vaccinations and educate families about immunization schedules.

2. Medical Procedures:

  • Perform diagnostic tests such as blood tests, X-rays, and imaging to evaluate patient health.
  • Monitor and treat chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, and allergies in children.
  • Provide emergency care in critical situations.

3. Parental Guidance and Counseling:

  • Offer advice on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive health measures.
  • Guide parents on managing behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns.
  • Address questions and concerns regarding child health and development.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Prepare medical reports and communicate findings to parents and guardians.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional guidelines.

5. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Refer patients to pediatric specialists when necessary.

6. Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on advancements in pediatric medicine and participate in ongoing professional training.
  • Adhere to best practices and guidelines set by the UAE healthcare system.

Work Environment:

  • Hospitals (public or private), clinics, or specialized pediatric centers.
  • Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and on-call duties, depending on the employer.
