Role Description

The Physician Coordinator is responsible for supporting physicians and ensuring smooth coordination of patient care. Day-to-day tasks include scheduling and managing patient appointments, preparing and updating medical records, and facilitating communication between physicians, nursing staff, and administrative teams.

The role involves organizing clinical workflows, confirming procedural details, and assisting with patient follow-up and referrals to maintain continuity of care.

The Physician Coordinator also helps manage patient inquiries, supports documentation for regulatory and hospital requirements, and contributes to a respectful, confidential, and patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, including appointment scheduling, time management, and workflow prioritization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and patients.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling medical records, documentation, and patient information.
  • Proficiency with hospital information systems, electronic medical records, and basic office software.
  • Knowledge of healthcare procedures, clinical terminology, and patient care processes, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality, ethical conduct, and respectful, inclusive interactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field; prior experience in a coordinator or similar role is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly beneficial for patient and staff communication.
