Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

The Healthcare Aide in the Paediatric OPD supports physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care to women attending outpatient clinics. The role involves assisting with patient care activities, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatricians and nurses in providing care to infants, children, and adolescents during outpatient visits.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms before patient appointments.
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, height, weight, and head circumference (for infants).
• Support patient assessment by collecting basic medical history and relevant information from parents or caregivers.
• Help maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
• Provide age-appropriate comfort and reassurance to children to reduce anxiety during consultations and procedures.
• Assist with specimen collection and transportation as directed.
• Prepare equipment and supplies required for examinations, immunizations, and minor procedures.
• Assist healthcare professionals during vaccinations, dressings, wound care, and other outpatient procedures.
• Educate parents and caregivers on basic health, hygiene, medication administration, and follow-up care as directed by clinicians.
• Monitor patients in the waiting and treatment areas and promptly report any concerns to the nursing or medical team.
• Maintain cleanliness, infection prevention, and safety standards within the clinic.
• Ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and report shortages.
• Support referral processes and coordination of follow-up appointments.
• Respond appropriately to pediatric emergencies while seeking immediate assistance from the healthcare team.
• Promote a child-friendly, safe, and supportive environment for patients and their families
  

Qualifications

• Diploma in Healthcare Assistance or a nursing assistant certification
