The General Practitioner is responsible for providing high-quality primary healthcare services, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of a wide range of medical conditions. The GP plays a pivotal role in promoting health, managing chronic diseases, and coordinating patient care while delivering an exceptional patient experience. This role follows M42’s physician framework for evidence-based clinical care and professional excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all age groups.
- Conduct detailed patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Promote preventive healthcare through screening, vaccination, and health education initiatives.
- Identify patients requiring specialist referral and coordinate continuity of care.
- Interpret laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic test results.
- Manage common medical emergencies and stabilize patients when required.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care discussions and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support organizational goals through effective utilization of healthcare resources.
- Participate in rostered shifts and on-call duties as required.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent).
- Completion of an accredited internship program.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH License as General Practitioner.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of post-internship clinical experience.
- Experience in primary care, family medicine, emergency medicine, or internal medicine settings.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and patient engagement abilities.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
