Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

A Clinical Pharmacist (Inpatient) plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications for hospitalized patients. They work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize drug therapy, improve patient outcomes, and support medication safety initiatives within the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Review medication therapy for appropriateness, dosing, interactions, contraindications, and monitoring requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Monitor treatment response, laboratory results, and adverse drug reactions, and recommend therapy adjustments.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship and appropriate antibiotic use.
• Document clinical interventions and report medication incidents and adverse drug reactions.
• Provide medication counseling to patients and families and education to healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to medication-use evaluations, clinical guidelines, formulary reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clinical documentation and support compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Manage medication formulary and related PTC activities
  

Qualifications

• Valid DOH licnese as a clinical pharmacist.
• Relevent hospital clinical pharmacy experience (experience in women’s health, pediatric & neonatology is prefered)
